Question About Adding Water or Acid to Golf Cart Batteries Batteries

I have a question about batteries and adding water or acid to golf cart batteries. I've always heard to put distilled water in them so that's what I've always done. I was just wondering though, at the Napa store near my house they sell battery acid by the gallon, would that work better than distilled water?

Thanks, Otter

There are some posts on that around, as i remember they said don't. Someone should jump in here for the reasons why.

NEVER add acid to a battery unless it's a new battery that shipped dry and never had acid in it. Stick with the distilled water. All the battery manufacturers say to never add acid and to use distilled water.

Hot rod is correct. Never add acid. Do some reading here on Cartaholics Golf Cart Forum to learn more on golf cart battery maintenance.
