We have a 2002 Club Car regen 48 volt , My question is this. How much mph would i get out of the cart, if i added high speed gears and larger 12'' wheels on a low profile tire? We like to go fast in this area of the country so torque is not a real problem to loose. I ask about the rear gear simply because it somthing new to me. We sold a 99 ezgo and a 2002 ezgo with a 6 hp motor and a 700 amp controller. The carts ran around 30 to 35 mph. Should we also go with a controller? Is that the only way to get rid of the regen braking system in this cart? Before i spend the money just wanted to know what would you do to go fast in one of these carts! Motor, Controller,High speed gears,Battery cables, Hd solenoid? Open for any ideas, looking for the

factor. thank for your time bcgc

I think the gears would give you 4 to 5 mph gain. Wheel size has to effect on top speed so the 12" wheels with low profile tires are a wash unless the tires are taller then the tires you are running now. Its how tall the tire is that changes the speed of the cart not the wheel size. If its an IQ cart the controller can be programmed to control the regen braking or the controller can be changed.

It depends on which system it is. If its an IQ you could have it programmed but I think top speed would only be 20 MPH. If its not a IQ I would go with a D&D motor and a Alltrax controller. Either way if you want 30+ mph you will need a motor and controller and all the other little goodies like a heavy duty solenoid and cable upgrade.
