I have a 2005 EZGO and when you first try to start up it takes it a while and it seems like it is flooding. But when you get it started up it will run fine then after riding for a while and stopping for a little while it doesn't want to go again just turns the motor over. I put new plugs in it a day or so ago and made sure the air filter was clean. What could be causing this? Could it be firing weak? Clogged carb? Fuel filter? If someone can give me some suggestions i would really appreciate it!!!!

Start with adjusting the valves. .006 with the engine cold. There's instructions on adjusting the valves in the EZGO resource forum..

Will the vavles just get out of wack that quick? One plug was wet and black and the other looked to be burning fine. Would it still run fine when you got it going if one of the plugs isn't firing properly? it has a manual choke on it. How would i check to make sure its set properly? I have had the cart probably a month and the only thing i have done to it motor wise is change the plugs and clean the air filter. This is the first one i have had so you guys are helping me alot and i really appreciate it!!!!!!

the intake valves will tighten on these engines quite often you probably need to adjust the valves before trying anything else 1 plug being smutty and wet could definitly be valves need adjusting. how did the plugs look when you replaced them? also check the plug wire to make sure it is pushed down into the coil far enough and that it is connecting to the plug as it should. adjusting valves is simple if you have a printer you can print the procedure with pictures step by step thats what i did. i believe hrc posted where you could find the procedure complete these things and let us know how it goes then we can discuss the choke and carb.
