Powerwise Battery Charger

When I plug in my Powerwise Battery Charger the needle will move back and forth without remaining in the charge position. It will do this a number of times and then stop. Every once in a while it will hold the charge position.

Welcome to Cartaholics.

Is sounds like you have a bad connection somewhere. Check all the battery cables and make sure they're clean and tight. Check the connections on the charger plug and cart receptacle. Make sure the batteries don't need water. Check the batteries with a volt meter to be sure you don't have a bad battery(s).

what year is the cart? and like hrc was saying check the pack voltage, if its not 32.3? total voltage. does that sound right hrc? the charger wont engage at a low pack volt. charge 2 batteries at a time with a 12v charger, just enough to kick the charger on. hope this is what your problem is

I don't think it's a low voltage issue seeing hot the charger kicks on and off. If it was low voltage it wouldn't turn on at all. I'd say it's a bad connection either in the receptacle, battery cable or a bad battery. It could possibly be the relay itself or a bad connection inside the charger.
