Pot box install

Never been happy with the linkage on the pot box when i converted my 90 CC to controller and pot. I have the throttle rod connected directly to the pot, Never did get it adjusted quite right.
Anyone have any pics or ideas on reworking this. Trying to get it smoother on take of. Had it adjusted from 5 to 0, but had to move it a little as the cart was creeping when i put it in gear. So now it takes off too fast when i press the go pedal. It is a pb 2 pot box, 300 amp curtis controller.

The standard controller throttle input is 0-5k. Any potbox that provides a nominal 0-5k output (controller output begins at 300ohms, full output is 4400 ohms) will work with the standard throttle input. The pot can be tested by measuring the resistance between the two wires with an ohm meter. With the pedal not applied, the resistance should be less than 50 ohms. As the pedal is applied, the resistance should rise smoothly until it reaches a value between 4500 and 5500 ohms. Values below 4500 ohms may cause a reduction in efficiency and top speed. Values above 7000 ohms indicate a defective pot box and will cause controller shutdown.

Set the pot box to the correct settings.. If the cart still is creeping when you put it in gear... Just readjust the linkage going to the pot box... You might have to move the pot box back alittle... JRay I hope this is what you are talking about.. If not please excuse stupidty....

I learned the hard way about the pot box.... Bought the pot box & installed it with my ac motor. The cart only ran 65 mph in the 1/8 mile...No where close to the speed that I was told it would run... It was when we were changing out from AC to DC that Nate discovered that my pot box was only supplying about 65% of full throttle... Not for one minute did I know that it needed to be calibrated.. Now the calibration of the pot box is the first thing I check on the drag cart when it comes out of the trailer at the track... Good luck with yours.... Now JRay I don't the difference between pb-6 or the pb-2.... I'm sure Rod can tell you... My pd dosn't have anything on it.....

Gaining on it. CC is 5 to 0 pot. Anyone know where to buy the adjustable quick connectors for the lingage ends? Local auto parts doesn't have any.

Wrapped it up this morning, with some threaded rod and connectors. Moved the pot back on the frame rail to get it adjusted from 5 to 0, micro switch on pot now working properly, it wasn't before i found out. Anyway it is a lot smoother on take off.
