The brake lights and everything else works only the brake lights stay on like the lights are turned on , Brake light works but when you stop they stay on until the key is turned off

Okay it's getting confusing there are two sets of Lights in the rear one is running light one is brake lights which part of the bulb is staying on the running light or the brake lights I'm guessing it's the brake lights because turning the switch on should turn on the running lights stepping on the brake pedal should turn the brakes on the brakes should come on whether the lights are on or not so it's the brakes that are staying on there may be a timer or a switch on the brake pedal itself

I reread your post maybe it's semantics but the brake lights are not working if they're not going off, what you mean by working is that the light is on

Yes they are working they just stay on all the time as long as the key is on. They never go off until the key is turned off no matter how long it it on

OK let me try this again, When I get in the cart and turn it on the lights in the rear come on when you hit the brake the brake light comes on as it should, the problem is after the brake light goes off the light stays on and will stay on for 18 holes and not go off till the key is turned off , is this any better?

If I knew how to do it I would but I'm not real good with wiring and don't know where to start. Do you have a polaris Breeze?

Well if the brake pedal locks on like a club car then the brake light will stay on
