Hello,
Does anyone know if I can put a universal or a different manufacture motor controller in my Polaris Breeze SL golf cart that has the same 48 volt, 500 amp setup as the oem?

What kind of controller and model number is in the Polaris Breeze now? There's a lot of options when it comes to controllers. If you're talking about the same golf cart as your other thread it would be easier to keep all your questions in the same thread pertaining to the controller.

I bought it at an auction. It did not have a controller in it. From looking at the manual and the specs it should have a 48v, 500amp controller in it. I called the Polaris dealership and they verified that it should be a 48 volt, 500 amp controller.

I am looking at the sevcon millipak 633T45301

I went on that same website they’re just under $1300 for a new controller that’s way too much

I'm sure you can but I don't know enough about the Polaris Breeze golf carts to make any recommendations. I'm taking it your OEM controller is bad?

If you know what you’re doing there’s no problem putting a different controller in there, but There’s going to be rewiring you need to know what kind of throttle it has what the motor is I think They use D & D motors And if it’s series or Sepex or AC Most likely Sepex - separately excited I would go on the alltrax site and download the schematic for their XCT48500 and study that, it will basically be similar for any controller Once you go through that schematic I could probably help you with any of your questions

Just take your time don’t be in a hurry it’s not that big of a job you will need a spool of wire Just kidding

What's the difference between a non programmed sevcon millipak and a programmed? I see some online for my cart model, but I am not sure if I need to pay the additional $150.00 for programming.

Send me your phone number I’ll go over some things with you I don’t think you want to pay 850 for a programmer

Ok made a call I think your best bet would be a alltrax 1268 conversion controller, this will come with an adapter you will cut off one end of the adapter this will give you the plug for the new controller with 6" of wire to splice onto. This setup will cost slightly more but will save a lot of time and effort, the controller is programmable for any throttle (yours should be 0-5volts) programming software is free so making any changes should be much easier.

I was looking on the attache site, but I do not see how to purchase the controller. I am looking to purchase it probably Friday or Saturday. As far as the programming. It comes with the software, so that I can program it or its pre programmed before i receive it?
