plz help drive belt

i have put an opposed twin briggs on a club pioneer 1200. original belt was a club car 1022671-01. i need one that is between 7 to 7 1/4 inches longer. did try a gates 1422v440 which was perfect but the v on the belt wasn't deep enough and the belt twisted and broke, it ran like hell up until that happened. either no one wants to take the time on the phone to help or there isnt one. plz i am in need of some help

thanks i tried dennis kirk but the pioneer uses a 1 inch wide belt and they dont have anything close. can i use a 7/8 wide belt or a 1 1/8 wide belt? will either of them ride right in the rear
