Peterbilt semi truck cart

HI everyone ! I haven't been on here for awhile. Been busy this winter and this is why. Started two yrs. ago on this for a customer. This winter I decided to get it finished. It was taking up to much room in my small shop.

A customer came into the shop one day and asked if I could build out of his cart a cart that looked like a Peterbilt. I told him I would give it a try. The cart started out as a 1980 marathon 2 cycle with points ign. . So after some stretching, widening, and adding some sheet medal this is what I came up with. Its still the stock ez go engine with one drive axle.

Thanks for looking, Daryl from Classy Carts

My customer took care of, having the seats recovered, there out of a ford ranger, the stainless grill and bumper. The fenders are trailer fender which the rear fenders I had to shorten. And the fifth wheel. All the body work I handcrafted.

This is my first and would like to build some more. I'm going to take it to the 2009 Mid-America Trucking Show in Ky. this weekend. Maybe I'll get some interest there from someone wanting me to build them one. We'll see!

Thanks Again, Daryl

Ya, I kinda thought of the same" low and slow". I have a cub cadet with a 3 cyl. kabota. That would be neat.

If I only didn"t need it to cut the grass here at the shop !

Update of last weekend.

The truck show was well worth the trip.

Ended up the only place I could drive was around the roped off area where the show trucks parked. But that turned out to be the best spot.

People really liked it! They were asking me to stop so they could take a picture, 5 to 8 people at one time were taking pictures!! They would see me driving towards them and would be hurrying to get there camera out. It was great!!

I did get five serious inquiries on builds for them and one inquiried about a paid showing in Tenn at another truck show. later this year.

Well see what happens, money talks.

Sunday came and my customer was ready to take delivery, so little pete is now with it owner. Kind of feel depressed, I miss it!! I guess when you put so much into something, its hard to let it go.

Ok! That enough sadness! The only thing that will get me through this is to build another one. Aready have a donor cart and some different ideas. This one I want to add a sleeper. The back will be open and a seat inside, facing the rear, for 2 passengers.

Here is a picture I took at the truck show, The paint on the big truck matched the little pete.

Thanks you again for all the positive comments, Daryl
