Randy are you sure it needs a roll cage... It's a golf cart.. It only runs 60 mph & that is on asphalt ... The four wheel atv's dont have a roll cage... I'm not really sure but the way I interpret the rules... I have to run faster than 4.50 before I need a fire suit or arm restraints... What is your time & what do you think mine would be... You are in sport 2. Sport 1. would be a full second faster.. In 300 ft you run a 120 volt parallel battery pack & if I run a 144 p/l b/p.. I don't think that would be enough voltage to make up a full second... I could be wrong ????? Besides if I run faster than that it would move me up to a pro class.. I don't mind paying 50.00 a cart to race.. But the pro classes are 200.00

I'm just trying to find out exactly what I need and don't need to race.. That's all !!!!!!

I stand corrected.. I have to run faster than a 4.25 before I need arm restraints or fire suit...

I found this in the rules...

Designated vehicle types are:
Type 1 – Dragsters, Buggies, Rails, UTVs, ATVs, - automotive powered (Class A)
Type 2 – Pick-ups, hardtops, and stock or stock appearing, 4-wheel drive (Class A)
Type 3 – Motorcycle, Snowmobile, or non automotive powered (Class M)
Unless otherwise stipulated, all safety rules apply to all vehicles. Every driver must have all the required
safety equipment for themselves and their vehicle before making an attempt at the track. If the driver is
in the staging lanes or rolls up to the starter without their required safety equipment, they will not be
allowed an attempt at the trac

I know we would be in the sportsman class because of time, but does the Type or Class pretain to us also...

maybe this will help....

they go by NHRA rules....

a cart is considered a open cockpit vehical... so yes arm restaints....

and i didnt say fire suite just the upper jacket.....

sport or pro all have the same rules....

a quad your not strapped in for the ride......

i would wurry about how fast you will run...

we will test and tune passes on friday and then we will see where you want to race

the silver and red jeep i race in the video he races both pro and sport.... that jeep runs a low 4's but for the sport he ws running 4.80 -5.00 he sand bags....

i see us running in the low to mid 5's if one of us goes faster then great....

remember we need a rmote battery kill on the back of cart/car....

arm straints are $40.00 and i can have a few sets here if you need them....

dont you ru them in the texas cart??????

here is some info....

GBR the 4.11 you have in you outlaw is a 4.11 gear with 28" tall tires... so since you are running 25" slicks now your gear is like a 4.56

in the sand you are going to have wheel spin.....

my buddys rail with 1200+ HP is running 4.86 with a 34.5 " tall tires at 8000 rpm...

so his wheel speed is over 150 mph but runs the 300 around 100 to 120 mph

with the torque of the electric motor stay with the 4.11 and 24 to 26 " paddle tire.....

well im back home and cleaner 15 pounds of dirt and sand off of myself... Ronnie is on his way back to texas.... Ronnie drove his own cart...

the only fire was on my cart in the pits testing the contactors and one got a little warm....

friday night the last pass was us GBR and Wicked down the track pretty good crowd came out to watch that one.... i was testing something different so i was only running 96 volts and went slow and GBR well the track gave him a pretty good shake down and a few wires we found out later were shook lose off of the contactor.....

but we have a great welcome by the crowd and fellow racers.... some were wanting to see our other chassis cart...

we both only made 3 passes there were over 300 racers out there for this event.... nect season there will be 4 races so looking forward to next season.... i have a few videos and alot of pics so give me some time to post
