Older Club Car, Wants to be OVERHAULED!

hello, I just bought my 2nd golf cart, a 1984 cc ds. Couldnt pass it up. Paid $850 for it. Looks great and runs well. I'd like to lift it, but I've got a few questions. First let me tell you that as part of the deal I also got a set of 20x 10-8 tires with it that I want to use.

1)How much of a lift should I do? I was thinking 4" but 6" is only a few more $$. Main thing is I want it to look good with the smaller tires,

2)Once I figure that out, then whats the best kit to get? This is for offroading/camping and will eventually get a rear seat for extra passengers.

3)Will I need any wheel spacers after a lift is installed? The last lift I did on an ezgo widened the front 2" on each side, so I did 2" spacers on both rear wheels to even things out.

4)Any other you mods you can recommend? I'd like to get a little more UMPH out of this little motor. Is this a 290 cc? Looking for more low end rather than top speed.

Thanks for any help. This site is really cool! I'll be posting some pics soon.

I wanted to get nice rims, but they're not in the budget yet, so I mounted one of the new tires on the stock rims to make sure they would fit. Of course the tires are too big now to put back on the cart!

Ok, since no one is helping me, I decided to go my own way. I bought the Buggies Unlimited 6" a-arm lift complete with new rear leafsprings. Started the front yesterday, only had a couple hours, and already it looks like I'm gonna need spacers in order to use the original centered, 8x7 rims. Good spacers are expensive ($150+s&h), so I found offset rims with 2" backspacing on ebay for about $80 shipped for a set of 4. They also had a set of 10x8 with 2.5" backspacing for $118 shipped.
I'll take a few pics when I get started this morning, and let you know if there are any other "quirks" that would be helpful to know about.

Ok..... my next HUGE problem is the rear lift. The sub-frame that the engine and rear axle is mounted to is not mounting right. By moving the axle below the leafsprings, i need some kind of spacer or wedge to mount between the frame and axle.
Can anyone show me a couple of finished lift pics on the rear of their club car? I'm still waiting for BU Tech support to call me back.

Here's a couple pics of the rear sub frame on my 1984 DS Gas. Notice how the rear axle is hitting on the cross member. This sub frame moves up/down with the rear suspension when going over bumps. Is this the same as everyone else?
