oily brake

Replacing brake shoes 84 cc found oil or grease in brake on driver side. After cleaning found cir-clip and spring that I guess holds the axle seal and bearing in place. If I remove the clip can I remove the axle and replace the seal? Is it difficult to re-assemble? Also probably need to add oil or grease, haven't seen a place to do that yet but I haven't crawled under the cart.

Figured it out, remove the clip and remove the axle, it's easy and it goes back in easily. You may want to tilt the cart toward the opposite side to keep oil from coming out. The bearing stays on the axle (has to be pressed on or off) the seal is in the housing just behind the bearing and can be pulled out easily.

At that time I thought the bearing was pressed on but now I know it isn't but ya probably need a special tool to get it off, the seal just pulls out of the housing. Thanks again HotRodCarts.
