not fast and dies on hills

I have a 98 EzGo TXT that has almost new batteries (Interstate) and seems to die out on hills. I think it should be a lot faster but am not sure what to check or change to fix it. Any suggestions? It does not have a lift but has a back seat and some aluminum over sized wheels.

Have you done a voltage test on the batteries? Do any cables get hot when you use the cart?
