Hi! I've been lurking for a few days searching for info on identifying what I dragged home last week. I bought a pair of gas Club Cars for $275. I believe one is a '97 and the other is a 2000-2001. They both have rear seats with aluminum diamond plate foot rests. The ~2000 is missing the rear axle, one front wheel, starter, and a few other smaller items. The '97 is mostly complete, other than some missing electrical components. I put a car battery to the ground and starter wires and the starter spun the motor just fine. I have no spark, but I'm sure it's because of a few missing key components. The F-N-R selector is missing (have one on the '00), and there are no fuses in the fuse box. There's also 4-7 wires hanging out inside the fuse box. I'm not concerned with keeping the accelerator pedal start setup. I bought this cart to swap a motorcycle engine in it, but for now I'd like to see if I can get it running off the original FE290, minus the retardedly-small exhaust, governor, and safety ignition cut-off doodads. I tried studying the wiring schematics in the resources thread, but I got lost. I'm sure there's a simple way to bypass all the original ignition/safety pieces (key switch, etc.) and make it about as simple as a go-cart engine. What would be the easiest way to get the coil to fire? I'm looking for what wires to connect to bypass whatever switch(es), and what wires to ground or hook up to 12V, so that all I'll need to do is get fuel to it and spin the motor to start it.
