No reverse???

I have a friend of mine that has an 03 club car ( he thinks) that goes forward fine but when you put in reverse, it clicks but wont move. Any idea's, I know nothing about electric carts except they are quiet.

Does it have a shift lever or rocker switch?

It's my buddy's, bosses cart. He said its a lever style and it's a pre 2000.

its either a micro switch on the forward and reverse lever or it is a bad solenoid. If all these are fine then it might be in your controller. My bet is on the micro switch.

It could be a bad connection on the F/R switch or a bad F/R switch. If the solenoid clicks when you try to move the cart in reverse the micro switch is working. If the solenoid doesn't click I agree with Petey and it's probably a bad or bent micro switch.
