no reverse bad micro switch

I have a 99 EZ Go 36 volt series motor that wouldn't run at all
I suspected some water damage after a flood at the beach where we keep the cart.
I know the water didn't get high enough to reach the motor or controller.
after performing the low voltage motor test I knew the motor was good.
The forward and reverse relay click when moving the lever.
I pulled up the rubber mat and the accelerator micro switch was disintegrated.
and the potentiometer didn't look in too good of shape.
when i jump out the micro switch i have full on forward no matter what position the gas pedal is in.
when I put it in reverse I don't have anything.

Any suggestions???

You have series motor cart not a DCS or PDS..
It sounds like you are having problems with either the ITS throttle or the controller.
Go to this site and download the manual: Ezgo Manuals
It's 90MB so be patient.
From the drop down menu, pick "Fleet Golf Cart".
Look at pages 47 through 63 for a complete troubleshooting guide.
The controller and ITS are covered in that section.
Hope this helps.

I went to the site you had the link for but each manual i downloaded didnt have the trouble shooting guide you mentioned.
Could you be more explicit?
Thanks, Matt

If you downloaded the Fleet manual, page 47 to 63 covers the series cart (non-pds) there are troubleshooting steps to follow on the charts. The ITS is near the end of that section.
Did you get stalled somewhere in the guide?
Let us know what part you need help with.

OK I have an update . i replaced the micro switch but the cam has rusted off and I need to replace the rod.
I have all functions and the cart works normally when i mimic the action of the cam.
can someone tell me how to replace the rod?
I tried some penetrating oil and a pair of channel locks but it wont budge

Doug thank for the link to the manual.
I'm almost back on the road but I need to figure out how to remove the pushrod to the throttle sensor.
It is corroded and the cam rusted off.
I tried penetrating oil and using a pair of pliers gripping it inside the throttle box but no go.
do I need to remove the whole pedal assembly to work on it?

Are we talking the coupler that holds the gas pedal linkage to the pot box?

You slid the coupler back and the ball will fallout. Then you unscrew it from the rod.

Update : I replaced the push rod , cam , plunger and micro switch.
Now the cart runs in forward and reverse but its slow I replaced the batteries last year so I guess I'll start checking cleaning and tightening connections.
Does anybody have any other suggestions??
