No Rear Shocks? 2012 TXT

We bought a very clean 2012 48V TXT that only had a couple of small issues. One of them being that the cart squats on the driver's side and the springs on that side are now flat. I was under the cart yesterday to see what I needed to order to replace the springs...and here's the question.

The cart has no rear shocks. Was this normal in 2012? It appears to have mount points for them, which also appear to have never had anything mounted to them.
Should I throw a pair of shocks on the cart too?

I have the same cart but a 2013. They do not come with the rear shocks. I bought aftermarket ones on line and it was a marked improvement. I ended replacing all 4 but the rears made the most improvement in the ride. Money well spent.

My research found that apparently some golfing clubs got fleet cars from EZGO for a few years that had no shocks in the rear. Our cart was clearly one of these.
I added rear shocks with no problem, as the mounting points required were there and unobstructed.
Thanks for the reply Bluesgunner. The used cart we bought has 12" wheels with low profile tires, flat/worn leaf springs (and no shocks). Two of those things have been corrected now but it will probably still ride a bit rough because of the low profile tires.
We'll be taking it out tonight for the first time and I'm sure it will be a great improvement.
