No forward or reverse

I have a 2 year old Easy Go ST that has. This is the first problem I have ever encountered with the operation of the cart. I suddenly have no forward or reverse. Batteries are fully charged, lights and sounds work fine. I do hear the selenoid clicking when I depress the pedal. At best, I'm only moderately inclined mechanically but I'd really like to try and fix it on my own. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forum...

What are your individual battery voltages and total pack voltage?
Check all cable connections and make sure they are clean and tight.

You can check the individual batteries by putting your meter on positive and negative of the battery your testing with out unhooking any cables. By the looks of the total pack voltage that's not your problem. Next step would be to check all cable connections and make sure they're clean and tight.

Before I even had a chance to clean the terminals as you suggested...the cart began working again suddenly. This cart has never left my one acre property and doesn't get much use except for being spun around the yard by my son and his friends. I have changed out the batteries once but other than that it's never required any repairs. What maintainence do you suggest I do to keep myself ahead of the game and keep it running in top shape?

I do appreciate the assistance....many thanks!

You have something loose somewhere. I would check all my wiring first.Clean all the batt. connections.

You need a six pack, about 3 hours, a wire wheel, and some terminal dressing. Remove each cable ONE-AT-A-TIME, and clean the lugs, nuts, and terminal posts. If any lugs are loose on the cables either secure them properly or replace the cable. Coat all parts with dressing, reassemble, and coat again. Do this for EVERY large cable in the cart. Take care on the motor as there is a jam nut under each terminal that MUST be held with a wrench when removing/installing those cables.

Trust me, it has never been done to your cart since it was new, and you WILL notice a difference.
