Newbe needs help

I have a 2003 refurbished EZ-Go electric cart and the brake lights are sticking. If I unplug the wire to the little apparatus hooked onto the brake, they go out. I tried spraying silicone on the plastic apparatus, but that did not help. Do I need to replace the apparatus and if so what is it called so I can order it.

Is the type of switch on the brake pedal that you have to push the button with your foot?

The switch is attached to the back of the brake pedal.

If it's the stock EZGO setup the switch is a micro switch, E-Z-GO part number is 10606-G8. You can test the micro switch with a ohm meter.
