New To Me Marketeer Golf Cart

New to me Marketeer golf cart. My neighbor sold it to a friend years ago and it made it's way back. It's been sitting at a ranch for years so batteries are trash. I plan on rewiring everything and repainting. I'm hoping the electronics are working, if not I'll have to figure out how to replace them with something from a newer cart, possibly even 48 volt 😁. Brakes were weak from what the last owner said, but it looks like that may be in part due to the lift and them not relocating the linkage. It looks like the linkage is at too much of an angle and hitting the axle. I think once its cleaned up and painted it will be a cool project, definitely a tank with having the body all made of steel.

Not 100% committed on color yet, but I'm thinking gray like military jets with flying tiger graphics. Not sure on hand painting shark teeth though and I dont think pre made decals will work great on the diamond plate.

Made some progress in the last few days. Ordered some parts, new wheels, valve stems, head lights tail lights and a volt meter battery level indicator. Made some head way tonight on cleaning out all the dirt and debris as well as making a big dent in getting most of the rust and corrosion off the battery tray and other frame parts under the seat. The electronics cleaned up well also.

Vintage Golf Cart Parts is the only place I know of that has the old golf cart parts. Maybe someone else will jump in with some other sources.

That's not good but at least it's fixable. It's always a good idea to spray some penetrating oil on the studs especially on a older motor and let it soak a while. Then while holding the jam nut with a wrench turn the nut a little at a time to make sure the stud isn't turning.

Got some work done. Wheels and tires installed with proper spacers. Battery/electronics area painted. F/R switch and speed controller cleaned up and new hardware. Motor cleaned up, rust removed from interior parts and painted. Rear axle cleaned up, painted and resealed along with clocking the hub ends so the brakes have a better angle.
