New G14 Clutch Questions

OK...Got the G14 clutch off without the use of a puller. Hope that doesn't mean something is wrong (that is not having to use a puller)...
1) I was told that Yamaha has a newer more improved type of spider for the clutch with bigger pins and rollers. Does anyone know if this is so?
2) The beveled side of the clutch that touchs the belt on the movable side of the clutch is worn. At what point does this need to be replaced?
3) Any other tips on this would be welcomed.
Thanks Again.....John

A good but noisy replacement is a Comet clutch. The spider rarely causes any problems unless an arm is broken. There are no weight links bigger than stock. Or you might consider replacing it with a G16 primary clutch.

Hello,
We purchased a brand spanky new G-16 clutch for our g-14. We're sitting and waiting by the mail box so we can bolt it on and see how she goes. Thanks... John
