New Controller

New member here, and I just picked up a new to me 1992 Club Cart. One of the first things I want to do is convert to a electronic controller. How would I do this?

Congrats on the new cart.
There's more to it than just a controller, you will need a potbox as well.
Are you staying at 36v or going to 48v?
What plans do you have for it and why are you wanting to change to a controller?

I want to add lift kit, bigger tires and wheels and try to make it go a little faster. What is a potbox??

potbox will take the place of the V-glide...............................

Ok, thanks for the info. I am replacing all 6ga wires with 4ga welding lead. Am I right that with new controler and potbox, I will not use the coils mounted down by the rear axle?

yes your right you,ll be getting rid of that and all the cables with it that run to the black box up front along with the black box.............it will be smooth as silk..........you,ll need to take your time with the acell rod depending on where you mount the pot but to put it in a good spot will require a few bends in that rod.......heat and take your time...............i just did one and it worked out fine................................

Shadowman, thanks for the info. I have printed off the wiring diagram and am waiting for the weather to cool off a BIT BEFORE i START ANOTHER PROJECT.

That sounds like a big project! I have a 1989 ds cart and have thought about doing the same. Have you checked the prices yet to see what you'll have invested? I look forward to an update on your project cart.
