New controller radically changes pedal response?

Just got my 2002 Club Car 48 volt back up and running after arcing the main motor terminals and burning out the solenoid AND the controller. However, before this happened, the cart started moving after the accelerator pedal was pushed down just 1/2 inch in both forward and reverse. Now the cart won't move until the pedal is pushed half way down, and then it jerks in both forward and reverse as it begins moving.

What effect would a new controller have on pedal performance? What specifically needs to be adjusted, if anything? THANKS!!

What brand and model controller? Is it programmable? Are you sure it's the right throttle input for the cart?

Frankly, I do not know the brand or model controller...the tech replaced the original 2002 Club Car one that went bad. Are you suggesting that the controller could, indeed, have an effect on the pedal performance or pedal/play? Thanks.

Yes the controller can have a effect on the pedal response. Without knowing what the controller is it's hard to say if that's your problem though. I'd call the shop that did the work and see what they have to say about it...

Thank you!. It is programable, and my next step is to ask the repair shop to take a good look at it.
