New batteries & cables - cart doesn't move?

Hello guys, need some help/advise/suggestions.............I have a 2005 Club Car 48 V IQ and installed brand new 48 volt Interstate batteries and made all new 4 gauge wires from scratch. Made sure all solder connections were completed and fused correctly with heat shrink. Cart was running before new batteries were installed, however, old batteries sat completely dead in cart for about a month before new ones were installed. Old batteries would not even hold charge, so that is why cart sat for about a month. I have checked all connections and made sure + & - wires from motor and charging port were hooked up correctly..............any clues?

I read somewhere on here to check the solenoid............could that have gone bad from the batteries totally dying out?

I am going to put a multi-meter on each connections tonight but wanted to see if there was anyhing else you guys could suggest after I do that.

Thanks for any and all info received!

Welcome to Cartaholics.

If the cart was running before the new batteries chances are good it's either not wired correctly or the new batteries are dead. Let us know what you find when you do some testing with a volt meter. Does the cart do anything? Can you hear the solenoid click when you push the pedal?

Thanks for the quick reply HotRodCarts!

Yes, the first time I hit the accelerator pedal, I could hear the solenoid activate, however, each time after that, I only heard what sounded like the micro switch in the pedal?

Hey HotRodCarts!!!

Got everything going! Sniffed around on the Club Car Resource section you have on this site and found the "computer reset procedure", performed it last night and BINGO.........everything started running correctly!

Thank you so much for saving me some $$$ by not having to take it to a repair shop!!

Take care,
