OK GUYS WHAT CAN I DO TO GET MORE POWER FROM MY 01 EZGO WORKHORSE 800 OTHER THAN REPLACE MOTOR I SEE ON THE BUGGIES UNLIMITED SITE THEY SELL AKIT THATS SUPPOSED TO INCREASE HP BUT DOES IT ANY IDEAS

I believe that you have the 295 9 hp motor? Clutch work would be your best bet, leave the motor alone. I got my 350cc E-Z-GO motor up to around 16hp or so, and running 35ish. But it all depends on what you are looking for more power or more speed?

You can go to a heavier spring in your drive clutch, and if you don't already have it you can go to the 28 degree driven. The driven clutch will say 36 or 28 on the helix (the back of the clutch)

i use my cart on sporting clays range usually haul 2 or 3 other people with gear an most of the time we travel any where from 1\4 to 1\2 mile paved road from club house to range sometimes it just seems i could use more power

Shorter belt and a governor adjustment will help out quite a bit. The shorter belt will give you a lot more torque and the governor adjustment will get you around 25mph. If you just need more speed adjust the gov and leave the belt alone.

any chance on a napa or autozone 1in shorter belt number ?or idea of quickest place to get one? i'm going to order spring for clutch as well power spring or whatever and was just reading about the do it yourself high torque conversion and was wondering if the pads could be replaced with 28 degree pads if that would do anything in stock clutch? prob nlot but thought i'd ask?

excellent, not hitting rev limiter then, as engine runs smooth just slow down so must be governor. will mess with it .did before and wound up with no throttle just all go lol sounds like i was adjusting wrong thing before
any idea on a 1 in shorter belt number?

most places that sell the belts can measure your old belt and go from there, there is a shorter belt thread here some where but i can't find it at the moment

yes a read that thank you been reading articles on here for a week lot of info to take in but veyy helpful.

will tweeking the gov all the way out affect take off power? i don't see where hitting rev limiter is a problem just lift foot a bit correct? shouldn't hurt engine hitting rev limiter as that's what its for correct? i run my rockcrawler on the rev limiter all the time it likes it

no, the gov will only effect top end. stock engines will run up on the limiter for a while but the intake valves will beat up into the head before long.

I use the EZGO 2 Stroke drive belt when going with a shorter belt on a TXT. It's an inch shorter and 1/16" wider. Here's the EZGO part number OEM # 22337-G1

thank you guys i would have let it hit rev limiter and stood on it just like jeep
so just to be straight i can put the 3 28 degree pad clutch pads in my stock clutch?
was going to have tom 'machine' clutch but seems to me a shorter belt be about the same?

ok so i think i'm going to call and order $45 doller power clutch spring
3 28 degree ramp pads and Spring - ezgo part number is 26304G01 for the 'HOW TO CONVERT YOUR STANDARD EZGO CLUTCH INTO A HIGH TORQUE CLUTCH'
and a 2 stroke belt EZGO part number OEM # 22337-G1 or is the $45 power spring and the ezgo part number is 26304G01 for the 'HOW TO CONVERT YOUR STANDARD EZGO CLUTCH INTO A HIGH TORQUE CLUTCH' are these tthe same spring.

you want the 22.00 spring for the drive clutch, not the driven. if you get the 28 degree cam and pads you will reuse the stock driven spring.

Thanks a million I pulled the little bolts and still barely snuck it off with out pulling front leaf spring bolt may have to back it out for installation guess if i'm going to order parts for cart i might as well order the yellow led kit i saw last night it's for car but flexible tubes should work all i saw for cart was blue green orange red and black i got yellow and black cart cant picture it with anything but yellow groundlights won't have any parts till begining of week i suspect soooo i guess i'll start taking some pics and figuring out photo bucket and posting

again thanks for your patience and info. what was final opinion on exhaust? hold up and see how 28 degree an drive spring and valve adjustment work out?
