Need Help With Harley Throttle and Governor

I need pix of how the governor and throttle gear is supposed to look; I can't figure out how that plate is supposed to go; both my HD's came to me w/o this.
The 73 was extremely hillbilly rigged the 81 wasn't but the parts were just gone;
OR tell me a decent non hillbilly way I can connect the throttle cable to the carb directly that won't get caught on anything. All I can think of is a minibike type barrel-stop but it will get hung up upon releasing the gas pedal;
On another cart forum they say "everyone" does away with the governor on these carts; but no one can tell me how they connected the throttle. I am afraid to as I am used to mini bikes lawnmowers etc that when the gov is bypassed or malfunctions, rods love to come thru the block..... I am NOT looking forward to that possibility.

There is a manual choke. The throttle with the spring works in reverse. The spring should open when you hit the gas. The bracket that holds the cables is on the gen/starter. I know of one I can get a pix of sometime this week if it will help.

Yes it would! and yeah I know the throttle and choke are seperate cables; and about the bracket that holds the cables; but I have the governor parts for one of my carts (not both, at the moment) and I was gonna hook it up w/ the governor at least at first as I don't look forward to blowing these up.

Sorry no pix yet. Between the rain, and the other cart not running I haven't been near it. It's on my list-not forgotten.

What I need isn't a pic of the bracket that holds the cable conduits under the starter/gen; it's the governor, as looking forward from behind the clutch towards the motor (basically from the vantage point that the rear diff occupies, forward) If you can tell me a "non hillbilly" way to directly connect the throttle cable to the carb. Using those cable stops A.K.A. on a go cart, won't work because the cable stop will get hung up; there aint enough space for one in there.
I have 2 carts and 1 (what I believe is) a complete governor setup; neither cart had the gov connected in fact both were missing and the throttle cable hanging in the breeze .
I have discovered 2 other golf cart sites; and have been asking this same question on all 3 forums for over a month. so far no pix and the only "advice" if I can call it that, is that the governor is "not needed"; I have 30 years of messing with 4 cycle engines mostly Briggs, Tecumseh and Kohler; and that exp taught me that no governor=blown up engine from overspeeding. Is that NOT the case with these?

I can't help you with the pics but I agree about needing the governor. Tweaking it is one thing but removing it completely on a stock engine will send the engine to a early grave...

ok so then I'm back to needing pictures of it; and a 2nd setup worth of gov parts for my other cart;
Is there anyone in SW Will, Kankakee or maybe Grundy County IL, that has an intact cart I could LOOK at to see how it goes for myself, if pix are so impossible to obtain?
I actually bought my 81 for the sole reason that it was supposed to be complete/intact so I could use it for a reference as to how to put my semi basketcase '73 back together and it wasnt as "complete and intact" as claimed; and I only went 325 miles round trip to get it! and you know Ebay; "bid is contract etc.... The guy woulda let me out of it but I will be damned if I was gonna hand him $50 for his Ebay fees when it wasnt as advertised; he backed me into a corner and I was already out gas and a wasted day if I came home empty; I wa sready to be "OK" with that; til he threw me this curve ball; some scam; mis advertise something and then when the buyer comes to get it and isnt happy just ask the disgruntled buyer to pay your fees; whether they were really that much or not, IDK....

I just got my replacement stainless reeds from Vintage Carts; I guess I replace that on the 81 that needs it and put these things back together and hope that I don't wind up needing to tear down (again) for the dreaded crank seals..... fixing the obvious and trying to start them again..... then I just need to hook up the throttle some how that wont bind either way, with-or-without the stinkin governors on either of these;

I have 2 tractor/Threshermen type shows that I am going to, these next couple weekends;
the one in Penfield IL "next" weekend, if its like last year, the cart definitely will come in handy; last year was ALOT of walking in 97* (in the shade) HEAT........ I was really huffing/puffing after that one......
the next weekend is Channahon/Minooka IL I don't think that one will be quite as large, I know the location, have been there "just not for this show" it certainly don't appear as "expansive"; not as many acres to have to walk; but yeah Penfield, would be nice to have a cart for, this time. so any tips/pics etc would be appreciated.

Speaking of crank seals; anyone have a part number for a "common brand" of seal that I could possibly source thru the local bearing supply house? Brands like CR, SKF, National, etc.

got this one running on its own power, for the 1st time since I brought it home a couple months ago; governorless for now (the state I live in, might be better that way the last 2 in a row have been convicted in court... 1 serving time the other waiting to find out "how long" his sentence will be) boy, this thing seems to scream ,wide-open...... one thing is for sure; these carts were made for "short people" I'm 6'0 and feel scrunched on my cart..... pics of the governor setup, still will be welcomed.

What I need is that plate behind the block, that rides on the clutch; and how it attaches to the cart.
