My EZ Go doesn't work anymore

After driving my EZ Go on the beach and it stopped working as I was driving home. When the motor stopped working, there was a beeping noise that wouldn't stop even when I turned off the engine. Now, when I turn it on, the lights work and the battery reads full but pressing the accelerator does nothing. The electronics box under the seat was extremely hot when it stopped working so I'm pretty sure that I over heated the engine but I don't know what specifically needs to fixed or replaced. Does anybody know what needs to be done to get my EZ Go working again?

is this an electric or gas. if electric is it series or spedex....(is the forward/reverse switch by your leg or up on the dash)?

id start with checking the voltage at the solinoid. sounds like either the solinoid heated up and shorted out or, and hopefully not, the controller shorted out.
