My DIY Dash

I am on a very tight budget "disabled" and I hated the way the dash looked on my cart. I really want one of those fancy wood grain ones, but cant afford it right now. So I thought I would try and make one myself. Keep in mind I am a weldor by trade, not a woodworker. I had a piece of luan plywood in my garage and traced the shape of my dash..Then I cut out the shape and all the holes with a jigsaw. Sanded it smooth and coated with several coats of tung oil and let dry. I did this to seal the wood from weather. I then went online and bought a piece of wood grain vinyl, costs about 20 bucks delivered. I cut it to shape and smoothed out all the bubles and now have an OK looking dash. I thought I would share this because I know there are people on here much more talented at this type of thing than me, and could do a much better job and save lots of bucks. The vinyl comes in every color and pattern known. like carbon-fiber in every color, diamond plate in every color, different woods, holographic stuff, you name it. If I could only get my dang steering wheel off

, thats why I had to slot the dash and make a filler piece.
