Motor Removal

I have an 3 wheel marathon I think. I am trying to remove the motor from the rear axle. However I have no idea how the motor is bolted to the axle.

Good news and bad.
I got the motor off of the axle. However one of the rear end is done. I have a line on a different one. With some luck I may finish working on this one before the weekend.

Hi,
I've got a similar motor issue on a very old cart.
How many bolts holds yours on?
Mine has only 2.

I know the following...
It's pretty old...
The serial # plate located under the passenger glove box is illegible.
The body is more boxy than curvy.
It has recessed factory headlights.
It has 2 separate seat backs, left and right.
It's 36 volt, batteries arrayed as such...
FRONT
| XX XX |
| X X |

REAR
It has the resistor coil speed control arrangement on the left behind batteries.
The motor shaft is inline with the cart, front/rear, not left/right
The motor has only 2 7/16" mounting bolts which I removed easily.
but the motor won't come out (yet).
The 4 motor terminals are all in a row left/right
One motor terminal is loose and shorting.
The ID plate on the motor is illegible.
It's pretty old...

The motor coupler is probably frozen on the shaft. The motors can be a PITA to get off on older golf carts. Does the motor move at all if you try to wiggle or turn it?

no motion at all.
Been wd40ing it for a couple days and occasionally smacking it with a 2x.
I'm thinking about screwing the 2 7/16" bolts halfway back in and then
trying tapping on or wedging the bolts heads from the rear to break it loose..

It worked! Threaded the bolts halfway back in then tap tap tap on the bolt heads and voila!
Removed bolts and it slid right out.
Will bring it into the motor shop in town and see if they can recondition it.
