Trying to help disabled neighbor. He takes me for a ride. After about 4 miles, it acts like it is starving for gas. Surges, chokes, surges, chokes. He changed the fuel filter. I poured a bottle of Dry Gas/ Injector Cleaner in the full gas tank. No change. He lets it sit for a couple of hours and it runs fine for awhile and then the problem reoccurrs. Also, we removed the gas tank lid, and the problem continues. Where should I start? Thanks for any help. Joe

I "think" the problem may be solved with a new fuel pump. The fuel pump was pumping some, but did not fill the bulb at the fuel filter. Took it apart; looked for leaks; could not find any but when I put it back on the cart, it would not pump at all. Rather than buy a repair kit, he decided to invest in a new pump. Not sure until we get it on. Before making this decision, I cleaned the carburetor, cleaned and regapped the sparl plug, checked the gas pickup tube (it was rubber and looked fine); also siphoned all the old gas and replaced it with fresh, so.......... Stand by..........
