Melex Golf Cart Key Switch Wiring Burnt Up

I just purchased a 92-97 Melex golf cart model512-E. The wires to the key switch are burnt up and I'm trying to figure this thing out and repair it. I'm new to golf carts so any assistance will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

check the wire for a short. Theres a wiring diagram for the melex model 512-E in the resource section.
