Melex Electric Cart

I am working on an older Melex no idea what year can't locate any info on it. The problem we are haveing is when you push the pedal to go it has dead spots and only about an area of an inch where you can get contact. Once you are moving any movement of your foot and the cart stops. Any ideas what to check.

Hard to say without knowing what year the cart is. Is there a wiper board connected to the throttle pedal? If so check the contacts on the wiper to make sure they're good and making good contact.
