Alright im needing someone to id this motor for me i was told it was a 89 marathon chassis
however the wiring diagram in the 89 marathon shop manual is not the same, Im wanting
to rewire it but it was unhooked when i bought it. So i want to make sure of what im working
with. The GolfCart is a Western Elegante not sure of the year of cart either
 
I have wiring diagrams and more info on these carts.
First thing I need is the serial number, it is located on the rear passenger frame rail arch by the rear wheel. I see it in the picture but can't read it, it should be 11 numbers long.
Which charger do you have (make and model number)?
 
Here is serial number 1000908079 its only 10 digits
Charger is Clarke serial#11-90 other numbers on it was 34194 and 40506A-3 i can give you
any info you need and greatly appreciate the help
 
You have a model 100 Elegante built in Sept 2000.
These carts were built in 36v, 42v and 48v models and all were series motor carts.
If you check the numbers on the bottom (end plate) of the Curtis controller you will see what voltage the cart is capable of handling. Most were built with the Curtis 1205 footprint 400a 36v/48v model.
The charger you have is non-standard as Western used Lestronic chargers in those years. Is there a voltage output printed on it anywhere?
 
I was mistaken about the age of your cart, after looking again it is likely a 1990.
Western doesn't have the full year in their serial number just the last digit of the year, the 6th number indicates the year - 1000908079.

After you get the numbers of the Curtis controller, we can see what your options are for power.
You can always stay with the 36v setup but you may also be able to change it to 42v or 48v for more speed and torque.
 
No problem i appreciate your help 1990 sounds better because this thing is ragged out
but im gonna bring it back from the dead, i will get contoller out this weekend and give you
the numbers off the bottom also check your pm's i sent you a couple

Hey did you have the wiring diagram for that cart. I just got a 90s western myself and the lights aren't working (someone cut them) so I wanna hook them back up. Any help would be great!!
 
I need the wiring diagram for the Elegante model. No tail lights and the headlights seem to have a UNIQUE formula for when they will come on.
 
RADAR & I guess I have some questions as well? Man sold me a 2001(?) Western 4 passenger golf cart with the owner manual. It states Model # 4006018872 with a vin#04v5661154yw018872. That's what info. I have?
