I have a 1993 E-Z-GO 36V Mfg code 776194 and how can I make my EZGO golf cart faster. Did these golf carts ever run faster. I want to make sure before I spend time on this trying to get power out of it, it has the capability. Will cleaning all the contacts help? My batteries are 3 years old but have very little time on them. I have an 03 cart and it has much more power. It can motor people around but it is very sluggish. If you need more info about the cart I will provide. Thanks ahead of time for your time!

I have noticed the same thing with my 98 fleet cart, I live in a small town where carts are legal to run on the streets and have become the most popular way of getting around, we even have a 4th of july cart parade as well as a Christmas parade, but I have wondered if I could get more speed out of my cart without spending an arm and a leg.My batteries are less than 3 months old and I did see some improvement, I replaced my cables and seen a little more, but the 48 volt carts can easily out run me, (my brother in law has a 48 volt cart and I think he bought it just to spite me)

Clean connections are a must. It may help depending on how bad they are now. I would start by check ALL connections and cables. You may want to check the individual battery voltages also.

Another thing is if you have the gray GE motor they were dogs and top speed would be between 10-12 MPH.
