low torque

Has anybody had a motor reworked to produce more torque at emp. My cart is very slow to get to top speed. Had Plum Quick rework it and couldn't tell any difference, a waste of 300 dollars

I doubt EMP's motor would be much different than PQ's rewind.
I would guess your problems are not with the motor but in another area like batteries, cables, controller etc.
What cart do you have? Series motor or sepex (DCS)?
What mods have you done to the cart? Lift, large tires, rear seat, controller, cables?
How old are your batteries?
Can you post up your battery voltages?
Have you checked to see if your brakes are dragging?

Sorry, got to watching the ball game. to answer your questions; series motor, new batteries and battery cables,no mods and the brakes are not dragging. as i said in another post the solenoid get warm but not hot in about 2 miles driving, the voltage coming off the posts was 38.4. running wide open the voltage was 35.5 and going up hill was 34.7`. Hope i answered all your ?

When i talked to PQ they said they didn't rewind the motor just changed to heavy duty brushes and balanced the motor, etc.

Without a rewind I don't see how they would expect the motor to perform better/different than it did originally. Were the original brushes shot? For $300 the motor should have been rewound and completely rebuilt.

I agree, without a rewind, nothing would change from a performance standpoint. If that's truly what was done, $300 for new brushes and a paint job is a rip.

I am going to call them tomorrow to verify what they told me or as i understood it. hopefully they will tell me. Could the controller be the problem and how do you check one?

If you told Plum Quick you were going to use a stock controller then they should have built your motor to run well with the stock controller.
Is this a DCS or series cart we're talking about?

They should be able to build you a motor that will run (20-23 MPH depending on tire size) on level ground all day with the stock controller.

If PQ can't EMP will...

I told PQ that i wanted more torque and i didn't care if it went faster because it runs 17 by my gps on level ground

Seeing how you already spent your money at PQ all you can do know is call them and see what they tell you. A motor can be wound for torque or speed so it sounds like they didn't do what you asked them to. A higher amp controller will give you more torque. Did the cart gain any speed or torque with the PQ motor? If you decide to upgrade your controller I wouldn't buy it from Plum Quick. I'd go with a Alltrax.

well just talked to carson at plumb quick-they didnt rewind the motor, they just reworked the communtator, put in new bearings and balanced the armature. 250 with this with shipping and another 35 to ship to them, wasted money.
