Hey guys,
I will try to keep this short. Looking at buddies cart, I noticed his accessory wires(?) were attached to his batteries differently than mine. He had all of his batteries in the loop whereas I had five. I moved the connection to the sixth (or first) battery to include all six of mine. The connection was on the drivers side. The connection on the pass. side stayed on the last battery. Both wires are red and approx. 12g in size. I thought that the wires controlled the charging and was missing the first battery in the series. BTW, I had no known charging issues before this. I have not tested the batteries and have no information about their condition other than that they are three years old, hydrated and maintained fairly regularly. Here's my problems, the lights are dim, fans will barely turn, and the horn and brake lights will not work. All of these are factory installed (I think). And they were working before I made the wire switch. I switched the wire back after I got these results but the conditions remain. The cart stopped moving right after this but a connector cleaning on the solenoid fixed that and the cart motivates well. It has the FnR switch and that beeps loudly when in reverse so I don't think the switch is involved. The cart is a little jerky when first applying the accelerator but smooths out quickly. Everything is stock (or as I purchased from original elderly owner who only had factory service) except for Sam's club batteries installed 9/08.
This seems to be a ground issue, or at least acts that way. I have not done anything to the ground bus bar(?) that is located under the drivers side seat on the body panel inside the battery area. Is that possibly the place to start? Any information on this is appreciated and thanks for putting up with another Noob. You guys are great and I love to read this forum. Thanks again, Rick.
