Hi All,
great forum and I have found a lot of useful info here. I have a 1999 club car ds gas with fe 290 motor. I am trying to find out what is the best lift kit to use. I have looked at the A-Frame and the drop spindle but I am not sure what is best. any help be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum...

Both types of lifts you mentioned are good as long as you go with a quality lift. What do you plan on using the cart for?

ive used both types and they both work well. it all boils down to how much money you want to spend. the jakes spindle lifts are nice.

Personally if you are not going to do any major off roading I would go with the A-arm lift.
I have seen and heard of too many steering problems on the spindle lifts. I installed a 6" spindle on my 2003 DS and had the steering issues. I added the heim joint kit from BU and the 2" front extension to clear my 22" all trails. The 6" spindle from BU is $200 the A-arm is $300 and you can go 6" or 8" for same money. The A-arm comes with the heavy duty rear springs and will move the front forward the 2" that you have to do seperate with the spindle. So add it up, $200 for the spindle lift $100 for HD springs, and $100 roughly for 2" front extension you have roughly 400 in the spindle lift to clear the wider tires and still risk some steering issues. Go with the A-arm and you have a 6 or 8 inch option and the front gets extended plus the HD springs are standard. total $300. Wish I had it to do over again!!!
Just my 2 cents, keep the change!!!

Hey apollo thanks for the input I think that you are right and have decided to go with the A arm due to the addition of the rear springs I will also be adding a rear seat and will need them anyway.
Tahnks again.

I've never used a BU lift kit so I can't help you. Maybe someone else here can. Or you could call BU and ask...
