Lift Kit Install

Ok, got my 5" Allsports Axle Lift (ASM-E5G) for my 95 gas medalist today thanks to Radical Golf Carts.
The directions don't go into detail and my cart stays at the campground where I will be installing with no power or air tools so I'm just trying to figure things out beforehand.

The optional Shackles, do these go in place of the rear stock ones?

The optional shock stud extensions, are these for the rear shocks?

Tie rod tubes, do these change anything or can the stock ones remain?

Any other suggestions or thoughts?

Optional shackles are for finished ride height. If you have worn rear springs, the shackles will make up the difference and you will need the shock extensions if you use the shackles.

Tie rod tubes are 1" longer than OE, the axle is 2" wider than OE, so the tie rods make up for the added width.

Hope this helps...

You guys are funny. I didn't know Dirty was Allsports.
I normally don't even read instructions, I like to see if I can do it without them, but in this case I am trying to get everything ready as the cart is in an undisclosed remote location.

I can't look at the cart so I read the instructions!

Ok, I need help...
Trying to get the tie rod tubes apart.
Two are frozen. I was able to use a pipe wrench on one to break free.
The two on the end I used a pickle fork and they brook free.
I then tried to use the fork to pop the one off at the steering arm, that seems to be frozen as well.
So I have two tie rod ends frozen in the tubes and one tie rod tapered end frozen at the steering arm.
Does anyone know if auto stores carry a substitute replacement?

Penetrating oil... Leave the rod ends in the holes. It'll give ya more control and leverage to free them up. If ya have a pickle fork, the joint will brake free. Try driving the fork under the joint and then smack the arm next to the joint.

I just got the tube free from the steering arm.
I now have both tubes off the cart, one with the spindle tie end stuck in it and the other with the steering arm tie end stuck in it.
So fill the tubes with penatrating oil and let soak???

So is there an automotive alternative if I can't get these out?

I'm not aware of an auto parts substitute. If the joint is stuck in the arms, they will come out with the pickle fork or by striking the arm, not the joint, next to the joint. The joints are tapered and can be a real bear, but the vibration from striking them will break the taper loose. Patience...

That will help. Like I said before, if ya put them back in the arms with the nut started on them, it will give ya a bunch more leverage to turn them.

Thanks, I will give that a shoot in the morning.
I was putting the old spindel/wheel hub on the new lift.
I think they are called king pins, they tapped out of the stock axle but they fit real tight in the new one, should the top and bottom hole be sanded to remove the paint?

The king pin holes can be sanded, but it's not necessary. The pins will be tight on the new axle due to the thickness of the powder coat. Make sure to drive the pins in straight. They should tap in, if you have to beat on the pin, then it is misaligned to the lower hole in the axle.

Well I got everything together with one new tie rod end from the dealer after one stubborn one twisted off in the tube. I install the new one and the jamb nut will not tighten up to the tube. I moved the wheel a few times and it pops out of the tube, threads are stripped. I assume the jamb nut would not tighten because it just kept pulling it out of the threads?

So anyway Dirty, can I pay you to overnight a new tube to me?
Just trying to get this thing together for our camping trip on Friday.
BTW looks awsome with the lift, what a differance.
Thanks.
