Installing Turn Signals

Hey everyone,

I am trying to install a 8-wire turn signal kit on my 2001 Club Car. It already has the basic light setup with head lights and tail lights. My problem is that I am not sure how to tie them all together. I tried connecting the first one to the front left blinker and it started flashing all the lights. I have the wireing diagram that came with the kit but it only explains the install if you have not prexisting lights. Can anyone give me some guidance???? Please!!!!!

Thanks,

It has been a while since I worked with this but I will pass on a few things until someone that has it for you comes along. First of all, when you put hot to the front parking lights, you are putting hot to all of them as all your parking lights are tied together. So that is the trouble you are having there. For your back lights, you need a dual filament bulb so you can have your park on one filament and your brake and blinker on the other. Your turn signal kit should have directions in it. Like all things us guys do, we try it first and then go back to the directions. In this case, you have to follow that schematic. Just bite the bullet and follow steps one, two and three. It looks like a complicated thing, but it is as easy as red wire, blue wire, black wire.
Good Luck.

Thanks guys,

The only thing that came with the kit was a wiring diagram that only depicts how to install without lights already installed.

I will keep tring.

Thanks,

Just pretend the lights haven't been installed. when it tells you to take the wire from the left front parking light and connect it to this color wire, disconnect the existing wire and put it where you are told to.

You have to break eggs to make an omelet.
