Hyundai Rear End

Does anyone know how much oil to put back in the rear end of a Hyundai Electric Golf Cart. I dropped the pan on the rear end and the oil that I actually captured was 1 pint and I assume I lost another pint on my rag and the ground. I have no idea when the last time this cart got fresh oil. The filler hole is on the upper axle housing on the drivers side. Most people led me to believe that you add oil til it just starts to come out the filler hole. I have put in 2 quarts and wonder if this is the right way to fill the rear end or does it just take X number of quarts of oil? Any help would be greatly appreciated since I can't find any info on Hyundai Carts. Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure on the amount in a Hyundai but it shouldn't take 2 quarts. Is there another plug lower on the rear end?

Only the drain plug, but the pan was not completely tight (Is Now) and I got a few drops of new oil so that hole seems to be the filler hole.

It's up the side a little which puts it just below the big drive gear at the bottom of my gears. It's on the pan below the gearing mechanism.

I just looked again it seems to be partly above the big drive gear. Do you think I should leave that plug open and use the filler hole unitl it starts to come out of the plug?

Normally you would fill it until it runs out the hole near the bottom of the pan. I'm pretty sure they only hold about 1/2 a quart but I'm not positve on the Hyundais...

I'm going to drop the pan one more time and leave the plug open and put oil in the filler hole until it starts to run out. What you said seems logical to me. Thank you for your help. Going to take pictures this time for future references and heaven forbid, other Hyundai Owners. Actually I love my cart.
Thanks again.

Opened the plug and let the oil drain out. Wiped it down real good. Put small funnel in filler hole and filled it half way about 2 OZ. Oil started to drip out of the hole on the pan. Put the plug in and all seems to be okay. Test Drive successful. Looks like it holds about half a quart. Thanks again.

Now that you figured that out, what type of oil goes in there? I have a Hyundai and I don't have the foggies idea of when it was last changed or even how old the oil in it is. Now that I read your post I am going to drain and fill with fresh, probably synthetic. I just need to know what type of oil goes in it.
