I have (I think 2002) Electric Club car will not go F or R solenoid does not click. Would like to know how to test solenoid. I have a long background in Automotive nothing on electric golf carts. Thanks clt.

What's your total battery pack voltage?
All connections are clean and tight?
Are you getting power to the small posts on the solenoid when you press the pedal?
If not I'd check the micro switch on the throttle.
If the micro is good check the key switch.

This is 36 volt cart dont know about series, Has only one solenoid, Yes 15.2 volts to solenoid when pedal is depressed. Dont know which small post does what. I did repl. solenoid.. total battery voltage 38.6 volts ran in ok when my son drove it in.. No more run.

Sorry thought this was a EZGO for some reason so disregard the PDS.

If your getting voltage to the small post on the solenoid when you press the pedal the micro switch is working. Try jumping the 2 large posts on the solenoid with a 6 gauge or larger jumper. If the cart runs with the jumper the solenoid is bad.

I did jump large posts and cart will go I then replaced solenoid . Have same problem I dont know which small post to energize, (White Rogers Solenoid ) small posts not marked I may try switching wires one small post to another. Have any further ideas. Thanks

check the microswitch that activates the solenoid, if you jumped solenoid and it worked but won,t with a new one its either a bad microswitch or you got a bad solenoid ( very possible )

Ok thanks I will try another solenoid, I tested micro sw. it is ok . Is it possible to energize either small post on solenoid. Thanks again

If the solenoid has a built in diode NO one way only. If your using a digital meter it will read neg if its hooked up wrong.

I bought new Whit Rodgers solenoid, small terminals not marked ,dont know which terminal activates solenoid and does it need to grounded.

I have no diode or resistors , nothing external dont which terminal to hook wire from V-Glide. That is the wire that will supply current to solenoid when pedal is depressed.

I looked up both 36 and 48 volt 2002 carts and both schematics show controller,
so you need resistor and diode. does your cart have a controller?

if solenoid not marked then it does not matter on small terminals.

if you are still having trouble lets find the correct schematic and work off the same page.

just found two more schematics for that year Vglide and Regen Vglide no controller Regen yes

so there are 4 different versions of carts for 2002

After checking schematics it appears to be a 1988 36volt vglide. I have no serial # was guessing . That wiring schematic is exactly lie mine.....clt

Will look over schematic tonight or early morning will work out both post and neg leads and some tests

Ok on phone for now
Set meter for 100 volts positive lead on solenoid small term. Neg if lead on neg 48 volts at battery pack any reading at either solenoid terminal. If nothing move meter lead to +48 battery t
