How many amps?

I have a 2001 Series 48v CC with a 6 inch lift and 22 inch tires.

Stock motor, wires and speed control, batteries are OK.

Anyway, I have a 10hp Admiral Motor rated at 10hp and 5100 RPM @ 48V.

How long is the stock speed control going to last using moslty on level ground? Looking to upgrade to a 500-700 amp, probably the Logicsystem for price and stated durabiltiy.

Also will go with 4g welding cable all around. Soldered ends with sealing heatshrink.

I stated some of this in another thread, but thought its own thread is better.

I see the Alltrax is really thought of highly, but is it really worth the price difference? I see it is programmable and I have done that on many smaller ESC's for models.

Still need to post a picture or 2 also. I really like the look the lift and tires give it.

It's hard to say how long it will last. With a 5100 rpm motor you won't have a lot of torque with the stock controller and you'll be putting some heavy stress on it for sure. Some of the high RPM motors require a high amp controller. What does the motor manufacturer say about controllers with that motor? I've never used a Admiral motor so I could be wrong but I would say with 5100 RPMS at 48 volts you'll need a controller at 500 amps or more to get good performance.

I am leaning towards a 700amp controller. I was told it is a really solid controller and good for up to 24hp.

It is only $50 more than the 480 amp so I guess it is a no brainer, but like the input.

I also want torque vs speed and got this motor when I still had a 36v cart.

What does a stock CC wiegh anyhow???

Thanks again.

I'd go with the 700 amp to. It will be money well spent in the log run.

A Club Car DS including batteries weighs about 850 pounds.

Thanks, the 700 it is then
