I have an 91 EZGO and a Textron total charge charger made in 1986. Recently, the charger plug melted, which brings me to the next part of the question. On an old charger like this, how many amps is normal during a charge, and how long should the batteries be charged, given light to moderate use? I am pretty ignorant of the process, and would appreciate any good rules of thumb or other input.

The charge should start out at 15-20 amps and slowly drop to 0. With moderate use I would say the charge should be complete in 8-12 hours. I've seen charges take over 16 hours if the batteries are real low.
