Squeeze the top of the cup holder where it meets the dash and you'll see 3 tabs. Release those three tabs and the front will release. There's 2 or 3 tabs on the back of the top that will release once the front 3 are released.
nope. the three tabs come down but the top will not move. there is a plate where the key is but the two screws have plastic or something in them. i've never had any trouble. still have original batteries. now the hor quit and the turn signals buzz. is it normal for the screws to be blocked with a filler?
The top of the cup holder is snapped on and will come right off. Sometimes you need to use a wide screwdriver or something flat to stick in next to the front 3 tabs to release them.
On the key plate those plastic pins will push out of the center and then you can remove the plate. The pins will fall inside the cup holder so you'll need to take the top of the cup holder off one way or another.
