How Do You Jump Test a SEPEX Motor?

I'm doing another project and want to make sure I pick a working motor to use. How do you check a SEPEX motor using a 12 volt battery to jump test? I am able to make a series motor spin by connecting A1 to S1 together and attach jumper leads to A2, S2. The two SEPEX motors in question, however, will not spin when I do this. I know for sure one of the motors was working in my golf cart. I just mixed up the two and don't remember which is the good one.

Testing a SepEx, Regen, Shunt Motor:

To bench test a SepEx, shunt wound regen motor you jump the S1 to A1 and the S2 to A2 terminals. This is two separate connections. Take 12V positive and hook to the S1/A1 combination and 12V negative goes to the S2/A2 combination. The motor should spin.

Do not run the motor with the front of the shaft unsupported.

Could be. If you jump S1 to A1 and S2 to A2 on a sepex motor it should run when you connect 12 volts to the jumped connections...
