How Do I Remove and Replace the RUN/TOW Switch on a 2011 EZGO TXT?

I am trying to trouble shoot the reason that my 2011 EZGO TXT has stopped running after replacing all batteries. Have replaced wire connections on IGN, FWD/REV switch. Next will be to order new switches.
But a neighbor (mechanic) said he helped a friend by replacing the Run/Tow switch. I have removed the 4 bolts but it seems like the plastic cover is stuck to the backing plate. Any advice on removing cover/switch without damage?
Thanks

Yes it did run before changing the batteries. And it ran after changing the batteries for a day. Then it didn't. Then the next morning it did.
And then it didn't. That's where I am now. The cover seems to be glued or held in place by some sealant material.

Hmmm, kinda sounds like a bad/dirty or loose connection somewhere. Intermittent problems can make you pull your hair out, maybe that why mine is gone.

The one thing I notice now is when I have the Fwd/Rev switch in Rev...and I flip the Tow switch to Run the F/R switch makes a half second beep.
And yeah, I can relate to the hair issue!:wallbash:

Well....Problem deferred as of now. I replaced the Ign and Fwd/Rev switch but no change in problem. Today I set up a maintenance pickup with a local cart shop for later in the week. When I went down to the cart today and was making sure things were ready for the cart to be picked up I fiddled around with a few wires and things. All of a sudden the Rev switch started making the constant beeping sound!! I checked and everything was as normal. Go Figure! So what hair is on my head remains there for the time being! :kickcan:

Might as well put a lid on this saga..........
My cart shut down the day after I last wrote that it was working. I gave up and called the local cart mechanic in town. They came and picked up the cart and gave it a total inspection as well as endeavored to find the gremlin causing the problem. Overall my cart is in pretty good shape although they recommended new rear bushings and rear shock bushings. Also said I needed rear axel bearings. But they did find the problem. It was my charging receptacle. Apparently when plugged in and charging the cart cannot operate (safety feature). Mine was occasionally sending a false signal that it was charging when it wasn't. New receptacle for $120 and I'm back in business.

This is a good lesson for all posters when you're having a problem with the cart, state or share what the problem is trying not to focus on one part because you're steering everyone in that direction only. The Reed switch issue that you have is a very common issue and it's normally bypassed for free and could have been diagnosed much quicker and cheaper if you don't Focus on a specific item

Yep, like Diode said, we kinda got lead down a certain path instead of being able to look at the whole picture. I can understand how that happens, but. There are a lot of disconnected reed switches running around out there, mine included.
