High Pitched Whine

I have a Columbia Par car NEV 48 volt electric Cart. Believe it is a 2005. When the cart is run for more than 20-25 min at a time, it developes a high pitched electric whine coming from the underside of the cart. I suspect it is heat related as it never has this whining noise when cold. Otherwise it is a great cart.
Besides this is there any special care besides tires, greasing and batteries that I should be doing to the cart. My owners manual is somewhat deficient on maintenance.

Next time your driving it check to see if the motor and or controller is hot. Be careful it may be real hot. I've seen controllers whine when they're getting ready to go out. It could be a bearing also.
