Help With Powerwise Battery Charger

Is it true that if you plug a PowerWise 36V charger into the cart and it doesn't click and the needle go up somethings wrong with the charger? I am talking about without having the charger plugged into a power source. My charger just clicks and the needle doesn't
move up until you plug in the charger to an outlet. This condition just started at the same time I don't seem to have any real deep cycle.

The charger runs about 2-3 hours, I have about 37V, go around the block 1 time, start to go up some inclines and the motor is starting to rapidly jerk like the batterys are low. I hope this makes sense to somebody

Welcome to the forum...

It's normal for the relay in the charger to click and the needle not move if the charger isn't plugged into 110 and you plug the DC cord into the cart. The meter on the charger shows how many amps the charger is putting out and if its not plugged into AC it's not going to put out anything.

Sounds to me like you may have a battery problem. Have you tested them?

Thanks for the welcome.
I disconnected all of them and they all showed 6.1 to 6.3 volts charged. I have not tested the batterys with a hydrometer.
These are 3-4 year old Trojan T-105s and this cart sat outside this winter with very cold temps to include -3.5F

Thanks

This is a 99' DCS and has really been a workhorse on the farm in Tx with 2 sets of batterys and is now with us in NM

They should be between 6.35 - 6.4 volts with a full charge. If the cart was sitting all winter they make come up some after a few charge cycles. Make sure they don't need water.

I will check for those voltages after the next charge. Does it do any good to try to "adjust the memory" by running every last amp out with the lights before charging?
Like I said, it doesn't owe us anything and if it needs batterys fine but, I'll bring them in the garage before the snows from now on. These cold temps are a new thing for us. I did charge the cart 3-4 times while it was snowed in but I couldn't move it. Thanks

No don't run the batteries completely dead its hard on them. It's best to not let them get below 6.0 volts or 50% discharged.
