Help Identifying Cart that came with the house + tips

Good morning!

Very glad to have found this community! Hope some of you are able to spare a few thoughts on the new Cart I got that came with the holiday home we purchased in Sweden.

It's an "old" Japanese import by the stickers, I wasn't able however to find much about the manufacturer or model on the Cart. As it looks, the engine is a Yammer GA340, also on which I can't find much online.

The good news is that the machine runs nicely, although not very fast. I would say something like 20km/h on a plane straight struggling quite a bit to go up hills with 2/3 people.

For the beginning there are a few specific things I try to find out:

1) What's the make and model that I got myself here?
2) What are those three controls (one right under the steering wheel. If I pull it down, the Cart stops)
3) Does the Cart have AWD? When I look at the mechanics, it does look like it, but certainly have the feeling if its just RWD.
4) What are those two switches under the front seat (Japanese signs for which a translation doesn't bring much usable)? One of them also turns the Cart off, the other one doesn't but no idea what it does though.
5) And lastly, I had checked the air filter (20 years old and as expected quite dirty). Can I just replace this with any other standard filter? Will the engine adjust the mixture itself without issues?

I am attaching a bunch of pictures that might help to identify a few of the things I am looking for.

Any help here is much appreciated.

Best,

Jan

At first glance I thought it may be a Yamaha but I don't believe it is. I'm guessing it's some type of Japanese export model.

Thanks! Any take on the different levers and what they mean? Like the one below the steering wheel for example?

I am making progress with the cart but encountered a technical problem. I have this belt drive system with the piece on the gearbox that slides in and out with the spring (see attached picture). It has little rubber pieces to balance out the positioning of the two metal pieces sliding into each other. You can see on the picture that there is a rubber piece missing next to one of the metal pin. This leads to an unbalanced position of the guiding disk and results in a wobbly movement -> which in turn causes the belt to jump over or flip around actually. Now my challenge is: what do you even call those metal pieces and those little rubber pieces? How would I go about finding a spar part of this? All I know so far is that the engine is a Yammer G340RDU. Any thoughts on the naming and how to go about it?

Change your search for your engine to Yanmar GA340. You might have more luck with that. Meanwhile we still need to identify the cart. Those sliders on the clutch are usually called ramp buttons or helix buttons and the part they slide on is the Helix. We will need to identify the brand of the clutch to find the correct buttons. Failing that, take the clutch to a few dealers to see if they can match the parts.

Great! Thank you. Will try to find some dealers - a pretty remote place out here in the part of Sweden I am in.

Your cart is Japanese and likely built around a Yamaha frame. I have come across people with these on other forums and are usually pretty high spec. Most are designed to drive themselves around holiday resorts and set up to follow buried metal tracks and have some complicated electronics built into them for this reason. Your driven clutch appears to be fitted with a speed sensor, which is unusual on a stock gas or diesel cart. I assume yours is gas, but most Yanmar engines are diesel and designed for marine use. Let the search begin 😆

Thanks for that! Yes, you are right. It's a gas powered cart. The cart has a front section (under the front seat) with quite some additional stuff in it. Almost appeared like another gear box, but then I did not see any power transmission from the back to the front. So maybe it is indeed some additional guidance parts?

I recall some Japanese carts with what looks like differential on the front that is a clever braking system, not an actual drive unit. We seem to be getting closer!
