Help I don't know gas tanks

I'm talking about the gas tank from the Honda Civic for the engine in my limo. I noticed cars have a nest of hoses coming out of the gas tank. What are these for and do they need to be reused? I don't have room on the golf cart for the irregular shaped civic gas tank and was wanting to put a 3 gallon boat tank under the front seat pod. These boat tanks only have one hose that runs to the carb or fuel injection. I have no idea why the car has so many gas tank hoses?

most cars(if its fuel injected)have the mail fuel line and a return line that returns the unused gas back to the tank, and then another line that should be a vent (that normally goes to the little black canister under the hood)..if one is a return line like i think it is then i think you gotta use it..
may be a good thing to get a manuel to be sure, john

You should be able to use a boat tank but you may need to do a little modification. The return line will need a fitting in the top of the tank. As far as the vent goes you should be ok with a vented gas cap. Or you could add a third fitting in the top of the tank for the vent and run the line to a canister...

The tubing should be fine. Most fuel injected engines have pretty high fuel pressure so make sure any rubber line you use can handle it...
